507nanometer was comissioned to develop a light installation for the Joasihno tour „A Lie“. The requirements were to build a small and easy to carry installation that doesn’t need any technicians to set up. Furthermore it should autonomously create a light show perfectly synchronised to the music.
The result is a installation consisting of 600 rgb led pixels that displays a unique light choreography for each track. It uses just a midi signal and the sound input to synchronise itself to the music.
The setup consists of a laptop with a custom programmed software that generates the light patterns depending on the midi and sound input. It is connected via network to a specially developed signal processing and power supply unit that controls the led pixels. The band can alter the order in which the songs are played and even the structure of each song without the lights loosing synchronisation.
